Hyundai Mzansi has given its Creta SUV a design lift bringing it in line with the designer Tuscon model.
The front sees the most obvious change with the Creta now adopting Hyundai’s new design language by having the Parametric Jewel Pattern grille as seen on the Tuscon. This means it also gets the LED Daytime lights that flush into the grille. The Hyundai logo is in black whilst the LED headlights are placed on the outer edges of the front design. The lower air intake sees a slight design change with a wider opening whilst retaining the SUV front guard protection.
On to the side where there are new 17-inch wheels whilst the sloping roof design is retained. There is now a matt silver line that connects the A-pillar to the lower rear design. The new Creta now has a higher ground clearance.
At the rear, the new Creta gets a new rear door design with the 3rd brake light moved from the middle of the rear light section to the roof spoiler. The dual-tone roof-to-body colour has been replaced with a single body-to-roof colour scheme.
The interior hasn’t received significant changes with the dual tone finish replaced with a black finish for the dash and the seats. The seats get artificial leather on the higher spec models. The large infotainment screen gets Android Auto/Apple CarPlay as standard. The driver’s seat is multi-adjustable whilst the rear seats can fold flat for added loading space. There is a reversing camera, air conditioning, wireless charging for mobile phones, USB ports, keyless entry, cruise control.
Powering the updated range is a single engine i.e. 1.5 litre 4-cylinder petrol engine credited with 84kW/144Nm driving the front wheels via a manual and an automatic transmission.
