Kia has showcased its new KX3 SUV at the 17th China Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition, which also goes on sale at the same time as its reveal.
The new Kia KX3 SUV features an active exterior design that should afford it a fighting chance against rivals such as the VW T-Cross, Suzuki Vitara and the Hyundai Creta. The front end is dominated by a long hood and glittering horizontal chrome lines on the front bumper, a wide “Tiger Nose” grille with stylish full LED headlights completing the look. The rear gains LED taillights, as well as a chrome-enmeshed rear bumper and mufflers.
The cockpit is said to benefit from a futuristic styling complimented by the use of high quality materials and a range of technological features that include a 10,25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Sound Mood Lighting.
Underneath the hood is a Chinese bound 1.5litre petrol engine that has been mated to an 8-speed auto transmission. Powertrains for other markets are yet to be confirmed.
The new Kia KX3 (also known as the Kia Seltos) is currently on sale in the Chinese markets, with sales for Mzansi and other neighbouring countries still to be confirmed. Stay tuned
