Renault has unveiled a new iteration of its ‘budget-friendly’ KWID, spotting new and exciting design cues that should attract many within the budget vehicle segment.
The new Kwid has adopted a rather ‘grown up’ design complemented by the maker’s new signature lighting that includes SUV-styled low mounted headlamps with two-level LED lights. A new stylish grille, arching roof rails, muscular multi-spoke wheels along with a heightened ground clearance some up the exciting new look.
Interior highlights include new dual-tone dashboard and seats, LED digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen MediaNav Evolution, and reverse parking camera.
No new powertrains have been announced, leaving the current 53kW/72Nm 1.0litre 3-cylinder engine to occupy the engine bay. Power is sent through the front wheels via a standard 5-speed manual transmission with an optional auto transmission also on the cards.
The new Renault KWID has not yet been confirmed for Mzansi. Stay tuned for more details.
