Toyota has unveiled its new performance infused RAV4 PRIME crossover, billing it as the most powerful RAV4 the Japanese automaker has built to date.
If you are wondering how powerful the RAV4 Prime actually is, well how does 225kW of power mated to a sport-tuned suspension and a 0-100km/h that comes up in just 5.8seconds sound? Is it too loud for you? Well it doesn’t end there, the RAV4 Prime is offered in two grades; the SE and XSE grades. The SE flaunts its sporty 18 inch alloy wheels, an exclusive front grille design and front lower spoiler. Piano black exterior accents and a painted grille/diffuser complete the premium look, whilst the SXE grade benefits from a two-tone exterior paint scheme, exclusive 19” alloy wheels and vertical LED accent lights.
Interior equimpent and packages also vary according to grades. The SE comes equiped with heated front seats, 8-way power driver’s seat with lumbar adjustment, 7” Multi-Information Display, Blind Spot Monitor, a leather steering wheel and shift knob, power liftgate, and Audio with 8” touch-screen and Amazon Alexa, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, to name a few.
The range topping XSE on the other hand benefits from luxury and tech with RAV4’s first-ever paddle shifters, along with moonroof, unique SofTex synthetic leather seat surfaces, wireless smartphone charging, ambient lighting, auto-dimming rearview mirror with integrated garage door opener and the largest multimedia screen in any RAV4 to date. The standard Audio Plus system comes with a 9” touch-screen and there is an available Premium Audio that includes Dynamic Navigation and JBL speaker system.
Whats under the bonnet? A 2.5litre 4-cylinder petrol engine combine with an electric motor to deliver 225kW of power that is shoved through an advanced all-wheel drive system and managed by a sport-tuned suspension for an added sporty experience.
The upcoming Toyota RAV4 Prime has been confirmed to be a 2021 model that will arrive in across international markets in 2020. Iunfortuntely, Toyota RAV4 Prime is not confirmed for Mzansi availability.
