In an era where cost efficiency is one of the main areas of concern when running a business, iSuzu has given Mzansi businesses a shot in the arm in their pursuit to lower running costs. Luckily, fleet owners don't have to miss out on style in the process.

The recent facelift of the D-Max saw changes to the design with a new "Nogwaja" grille and headlights (LED Daytime lights and LED Headlights on high spec models). In an age where SMMEs seek a lifestyle vehicle that is able to perform business operation duties, an Extended Cab not only brings VAT benefits but in LSE spec, allows the owner to also use it as a social vehicle.

18 inch alloy wheels, side step and chrome roll bars comes standard on the LSE spec whilst the rear lights get the new design. 4 Tiedown brackets in the load box make it easy to restrain load. All Extended Cab models (L, LS, LSE) have a load box width of 1803mm length, 1530mm width and a depth of 490mm. The LSE models either get a 1.9 litre Turbodiesel or a 3.0 litre Turbodiesel engine. 6 speed manual or 6 speed auto options are available.

The interior has received updates to the infotainment system that also allows one to connect via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for both safety and practicality purposes. Controls for the volume and tuning remain using knobs instead of this new craze of having everything integrated into the touchscreen (a dangerous thing when chasing delivery deadlines).

For the first time on the current D-Max generation, there is now a low ride, single cab spec starting at R433,860.00 that will suite small business owners and large fleet operators. This model is powered by the proven and low maintenance 2.5 turbo engine with 58kW/176Nm claimed. Drive is to the rear wheels via a 5 speed manual. Load box size is 2305mm length, 1535mm width and 445mm depth. The iSuzu dealer network has options to customise these models for work purposes. These include bin lining, canopy and other items designed to enhance the practicality and carrying features.

The single cab model also retains the dashboard layout as other D-Max models and also has an infotainment screen. The base spec doesn't come with an entertainment system but the dealer network allows one to opt for varying sound systems.

The 3 seater layout has the driver with their separate seat making it easy for the driver to have comfortable position. Other single cab models come in L, LS and LSE spec as well with their features in line with the Double Cab and Extended Cab models.

Single cab L spec models have the Hi-Ride suspension set up with 4x4 and 4x2 drivetrain options. These come standard with the 1.9 litre Turbodiesel engine.

For the business owner seeking even better value, iSuzu Mzansi has the Gen 6 line up of D-Max models that start from R373 750.00. The Gen 6 models come in single cab low ride, single cab hi-ride and double cab spec.
The ISUZU D-MAX range is sold with ISUZU’s standard five-year/90 000 km service plan, five-year/120 000 km warranty and roadside assistance, and five-year/unlimited distance anti-corrosion warranty. Service intervals are every 15 000 km or 12 months.
