The Chinese automaker Haval took the country by storm ever since it made local introduction and sold over 2,602 in 2022. The biggest complaint about its products has come on the fuel efficiency front but it seems the Jolion HEV Plug in Hybrid will try and put that to bed.

The Haval Jolion HEV gets design changes on the exterior to signify the electric touch with the diamond front grille coming as standard. The LED Premium Vision headlights and fog lights are now trimmed with blue accents and the front bumper has been redesigned.

There are now silver roof rails, flared rear brake lights, a sporty rear diffuser and dual vent rear spoilers. 17 or 18-inch sports alloy wheels round off the package, depending on the specification grade

Stepping into the interior the cabin, the Jolion HEV doesn't lose any of it's known luxury, with soft touch materials, technology and minimalist design dash layout. There is a bronze like effect running along the dash and in all part of cabin panels including the steering wheel to remind you that you're in the HEV version of the Jolion. Smart keyless entry with push button start, a panoramic sunroof, a seven-inch colour instrument cluster and wireless charging are standard on both Luxury and Super Luxury models. Luxury models feature a 10.25-inch Multimedia Touch Display. Super Luxury derivatives feature 12.3-inch Multimedia Touch Display and a Head-Up Display.

The engine powering this car is a 1.5l petrol combined with the electric self-charging motor driving the front wheels via a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). Together these give an output of 140kW and 375Nm. The icing on this package is claimed fuel consumption of 5.0l/100km.

The Jolion HEV will be offered with two variations and they'll be priced as follows:

Luxury R549 950
Super Luxury R579 950

The Jolion HEV will be sold with a 5 year/60 000km service plan, a 5 year/100 000km warranty and an 8 year/150 000km hybrid battery warranty
