Lepas, a luxury sub-brand of Chery, is set to spread its wings and make a local debut by introducing its first model in the first quarter of 2026.

That first model to be introduced is called the Lepas L4 which brought out to be a more premium offering in its small SUV segment and is set to target the likes of the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and Chery Tiggo Cross.
The exterior of the car has elements of the Chery brand that are distinctive to the eye, as this car features sleeker and slimmer LED daytime running lights and lower main beams in a stacked layout. The centerpiece is the massive chrome grille that has the Lepas badge right in the middle to let you know exactly what you're looking at.

It would also be worth mentioning that the car should be equipped with all the latest technologies to assist the driver in having a much easier commute. We suspect these would range from a 13.2-inch central control and instrument display powered by a high-performance Snapdragon 8155 cockpit chip, an onboard voice assistant, an APA (Autonomous Parking Assist) system, and L2 intelligent driving capabilities.

Lepas claims that it is more than a car brand, rather suggesting that it is a lifestyle designed for a new generation of drivers who see mobility as an extension of self expression. "The L4 captures the spirit of accessible elegance with striking Leopard Aesthetics, sharp lines, and bold proportions. Step inside and you’re met with a calm, contemporary interior that balances minimalist luxury with urban energy. It’s connected, refined, and made to be seen." says Lepas.
Since the Lepas L4 appears to be based on the Chery Cross, power is expected to come from the familiar 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 108kW and 210Nm via a 6 speed DCT transmission that drives the front wheels.

Of course, this does mean that already 2026 looks to follow in the footsteps of the previous year, as it seems we will be getting quite the influx of cars. Lepas, for one, also stated that "this is only the beginning" because later this year, the flagship Lepas L8 will be making its local introduction to add to the lineup.
