New Nissan Navara orders now open

Orders are now open for the new, locally-produced Nissan Navara, set to roll off of the production line at Nissan’s Rosslyn plant in June 2021. With prices starting at R311 000 for the Navara 2.5 Petrol XE SC, and R474 000 for the Navara 2.5D SE MT DC, the modernised line-up is well-positioned to compete in most of the 1ton pickup segments.

For the first time, there will also be an entry level single cab in the Nissan Navara model line up. The double cab continues as before with styling changes in the front giving the Navara a new grille, lights and bumper. On the side there are new wheels with the rear also getting design changes. These changes are also seen in the single cab. The spec level starts with the XE (single cab only), with an LE, SE, SE Plus and PRO-4X completing the spec line up.

The interior will differ based on spec model with options for leather should buyers wish for it. A large touchscreen will also feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto whilst higher spec models will also feature satellite controls on the steering wheel for audio, info and cruise control. Space is similar to before as this is the face-lift model however that was never an issue on the pre facelift model. Nissan promises sector leading comfort levels in terms of on road refinement. The engine line up starts with the 118kW/230Nm 2.5-litre Turbo Diesel engine in the entry level XE single cab. There is also a 120kW/400Nm 2.5-litre engine with the top spec models getting a 140kW/450Nm version of that engine. There will be 4×2 and 4×4 models with either manual or auto transmissions.

Choose 2WD for maximum efficiency, or shift to 4WD (4H) at speeds up to 100km/h with the Navara’s shift-on-the-fly 4×4 gearbox. Achieve maximum performance as Nissan’s 4H constantly monitors conditions and adjusts the balance of power between the front and rear axles to maintain traction, while the Active Brake Limited Slip Differential system (ABLS) manages power delivery and wheel braking between the front and rear axles and between the left and right of the vehicle, depending on traction and speed. New Navara drivers also have the option to select low range 4WD (4LO) for difficult terrain.

Perfect for delivering building supplies to site or for leisure, the all-new Navara’s payload is now 100kg bigger, thanks to an increase of 36mm in the front, and 64mm in the rear of the height of the load-box. An added step to the rear bumper for the SE Plus and LE grades, and an easy-lift tailgate and a torsion bar on all DC derivatives, also makes loading and unloading easier.
