Finally, Renault Mzansi has launched its latest SUV in Mzansi, the 2023 Renault Captur. With its enhanced styling and dynamic design, the Captur has a sportier and more athletic look than its predecessor.
The Captur has a wider grille and ribbed bonnet, giving it a more sporty and assertive look. The C-shaped LED headlights add to its sporty appeal, and the wider shoulders give the vehicle more personality and character. The back is wider, and the addition of a spoiler and shark fin further enhance its stylish appearance. The Captur also rides on 17-inch wheels, completing the sporty look. The Captur comes in two derivatives, Zen and Intense. The Zen offers a mono-tone exterior, while the Intense offers a bi-tone exterior, and both have six colours to choose from.
Inside, the Captur offers a spacious and comfortable driving experience. The floating console for the gear lever enhances the driving experience, and the inclusion of paddle shifts allows for a more engaging drive. The enveloping shape of the seats adds to the overall comfort of the ride, and there is more leg and headspace than its predecessor. The driver focused 7-inch infotainment screen provides easy access to various features, and the inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allows easy connectivity to smartphones. Additionally, the vehicle offers wireless charging and USB ports (front and rear) for added convenience. Keyless entry makes it easy to access the vehicle (my all time favourite feature).
The Captur offers a customizable driving experience, with the option to choose between different driving modes, including my sense, sport and eco. The sport mode provides a heavier steering feel, giving drivers a sportier feel while driving, while eco mode prioritizes fuel efficiency. cruising around Durban was enjoyed most in the My Sense mode for me, it provided a comfortable and smooth drive.
The Captur comes with various safety features, including emergency brake assist, headlight activation, speed limiter, driving assistance, traffic assistance, lane departure warning, blindspot warning, parking assistance, and much more. These features make driving the Captur a safer experience for both the driver and passengers.
