BAIC South Africa unveiled a new offering at The Festival of Motoring that will go head to head with the likes of Toyota RAV4 and Volkswagen Tiguan and by the sounds of it, that's already a bold claim so what does BAIC have up its sleeves?

Looks wise, the cars gives off a very off-road capable setup (especially the models that was on display which one kitted out with bull-bars, an intake snorkel and roof racks) because of elements like protective cladding that surrounds the wheel arches, sculpted bumpers and overall strong lines integrated into the design that give the vehicle a muscular stance.
The front has distinctive LED daytime running light bar that illuminate the surround of the headlights and entire grille encased in glass.

The best part to look at the vehicle was definitely from the back as it features these gorgeous LED taillights that have an almost cylindrical daytime running light element integrated.
“Festival of Motoring 2025 is about energy, excitement, and giving the public hands-on experiences. For BAIC, it was the perfect moment to reveal the B30 to South Africa and showcase what our brand represents today,” said Ameena Hassan, Brand & PR Manager at BAIC South Africa.
Though it was brief, we poke around on the interior and found a 14.6-inch infotainment system, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof which already gets a stamped of approval from us. BAIC Informed us that the B30 has a host of advanced driver assistance features.
The B30 will be offered in four derivatives in our market, two of which will feature a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 138kW whilst the other two get a more powerful hybrid versions of the same petrol engine with the addition of electric motors that push up power to 301kW in the top of the range hybrid model.
Pricing :
R550,000 will be your starting pricing whilst the flagship AWD hybrid model is expected to be at approximately R700,000.
The B30 is set to properly launch in November and then shortly after, a tour to the local assembly at BAIC’s Coega facility in Gqeberha will follow.
