Over 200 collectors, enthusiasts, and online spectators and bidders came to be a part of an exclusive auction event in 2025, courtesy of Creative Rides.

The auction featured 33 hand-picked collector cars, with BMWs emerging as the undisputed stars of the night; however, a standout was a rare 1987 BMW 333i finished in a Henna Red hue that captured its elusive appearance. Among its attributes of such luxuries as power steering, the rare car sold for a staggering R3.5 million (including buyer’s commission), setting a new high for the model.

Among those that sold for eye-watering price tags was a 1991 BMW 325iS Evo 1, which had all buyers scrambling, settling at the amount of R1.5 million (including buyer’s commission). Another noteworthy highlight was the unrestored estate late Cadillac 62 Series Convertible, which achieved R500,000, showing that American classics remain a soft spot and an easy pick among collectors. It seems that Creative Rides has solidified its auctions as one of South Africa’s premier destinations for vehicles ranging from timeless classics to outrageous restomods.
Most collector cars and private collections have recently been consigned to Creative Rides and will be showcased and offered for sale throughout 2025. With a full calendar of auctions planned for the rest of 2025, Creative Rides aims to break more records and deliver even more automotive icons to passionate buyers across the country.
