Don't we all love it when our favorite brands pull off a "who has the biggest muscles" game? This usually ends up with a beautiful masterpiece unveiled, and this time, Lamborghini are the authors of excellence. Lambo has just pulled the wraps off the fastest production performance SUV ever made by the brand. Ladies and Gentlemen, meet the new Lamborghini Urus SE Performante.
The car "suffers" major upgrades both in appearance and beneath the skin but let's begin with the power figures

The Urus SE Performante utilizes a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a permanent-magnet electric motor, delivering the highest combined system output ever achieved in the model’s history. Where the "standard" Urus SE pushes 588kW of power, the SE Performante adds "only" 8kW resulting in a total power output of 596 kW and a maximum of 1000 Nm of torque.
Altogether the system promises to launch you from 0-100km/h in just 3.3 seconds, a figure that was exclusive to the Aston Martin DBX 707 Speed and the Ferrari Purosangue. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine is paired to a recalibrated eight-speed automatic transmission that apportions power to the smart all-wheel-drive system with an electronically controlled central clutch.

The Italians didn't just stop at adding power for straight-line speed but instead went as far as to upgrade the whole suspension of the vehicle to host some serious enhancements. In addition to the increase in power and torque, improved power-to-weight ratio, and new aerodynamic solutions, the vehicle also introduces the AURA dual-chamber air suspension system. This system serves as an anti-body roll system that also reduces vibrations by 25% compared to the previous generation of the Urus Performante.

This gives way to the addition of a Rally Mode drive mode which allows the vehicle to traverse through rough, rocky terrain at high speeds as the mode is specifically calibrated to deliver maximum driving excitement on loose surfaces. As far as drive modes go, you will have the chose of toggling between Strada, Sport, Corsa and now Rally mode.
The Urus SE Performante gains some intelligent tricky beneath the skin to enhance the overall experience

Lamborghini Urus SE Performante features a groundbreaking six-degrees-of-freedom 6D sensor, debuting at 2025 Monterey Car Week, enhancing performance with advanced data acquisition and predictive algorithms integrated within the IPB control unit. The system estimates key parameters like tire grip, actual vehicle speed, and body attitude angle in real time, enhancing vehicle dynamics management with feed-forward road prediction.
The IPB serves as an advanced pressure modulator, offering continuous modulation of braking torque and achieving a 10% increase in braking power alongside a 12% improvement in responsiveness over the Urus Performante. The braking distance from 200–0 km/h is under 130 meters, while the synergy with the 6D sensor enhances the Traction Control System and Integrated Vehicle Control, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted torque delivery and brake pressure management.

Additionally this new Performante gains a 2K2V dual-chamber air suspension over the previous version that aims to improve the chassis responsiveness and axle stiffness.
Equally impressive kits have been added to not only aid aesthetic appeal but also promote improvements in aero and downforce.

Lamborghini claims that the SE Performante has the most use of carbon fiber of any other Urus previously produced, which contributes to a weight reduction of 3% in aerodynamic drag compared to the Urus SE.

The front features a new exposed carbon-fiber bonnet with integrated pronounced hood bulges, a new set of hood-mounted air channels to assist hot air escape, while the lower part has redesigned air openings for improved aero and increased cooling to feed the radiators.

The side view showcases even more exposed carbon fiber elements on the mirrors, side skirts, and even on the wheel arches. What fills those wheel arches are these new 23-inch wheels featuring a Y-spoke design that are wrapped in dedicated Pirelli P Zero rubber made especially for the Urus SE Performante.

You can even opt for winter-specific tires in the Pirelli Scorpion Winter 2s.

At the rear, the car receives a combination of new upper and lower carbon fiber spoilers that work in sync to maximize aerodynamics, while acoustics are significantly improved by the new exhaust tailpipes and titanium exhaust system developed by Lamborghini in collaboration with Akrapovič, which is said to produce a "rich titanium soundtrack."

There is also a slight redesign of the lower bumper diffuser that aims to improve aero and downforce.
The interior

Changes in here are subdued, but just enough to enhance the cabin's appeal and provide what the Lamborghini team themes the ability to "Feel Like a Pilot. "Customers will be treated to new upholstery for the panels, seats, and dashboard in the form of CorsaTex, which is a fancy microfiber suede. Distinctive touches of dedicated livery and contrasting red details will be available for the SE Performante vehicle only.

At the center of the dashboard sits a new 12.3-inch screen that features updated graphics borrowed over from the Revuelto, which also make their way to the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, now housing a more detailed and defined model-specific telemetry system and displays related to the driver assistance systems.

The signature cabin air vents also gain Y-shaped anodized aluminum detailing, whilst the driver gets a new flat-bottom CorsaTex steering wheel design specifically designed for the Urus SE Performante.
When can you get our hands on one of these?
The Lamborghini Urus SE Performante is scheduled to arrive for customer deliveries in 2027 in Mzansi. Global orders are currently open with an expected base price around $300 000 which equates to around R4,924,980 ZAR for us.
