GWM South Africa has officially pulled the covers off the latest addition to its range of bakkies, the new P300 LS which replaces the previous P-Series Black Edition LS.
The LS retains the 2.4-litre Turbo Diesel engine producing 135 kW and 480 Nm of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. A towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes underscores its serious work credentials, easily handling everything from construction trailers to boats or off-road caravans. Built on a rugged platform featuring a split chassis guard, double wishbone front suspension and leaf spring rigid axle suspension at the rear, the new P300 LS has been engineered to handle uneven surfaces and harsh loads with ease. Plus the 4WD version comes with an electronic rear differential lock, adding extra traction for when the terrain gets really harsh.
Visually, the new P300 LS retains the facelift design accents with a bold grille, distinctive wheel-arch flares and eye-catching 18-inch alloys. Upfront, LED headlights and cornering function fog lamps ensure visibility in poor conditions, while subtle details like roof rails, fixed sidesteps and an electric-lock tailgate round out a profile that’s as stylish as it’s practical.
Inside the cab, there is a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complete with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto, sits alongside a 7-inch digital cluster, delivering all your key driving and entertainment data in sharp clarity. Confidence behind the wheel is reinforced by a suite of advanced safety technologies like electronic stability control, traction control, hill start and downhill assist, trailer sway control and a reverse camera with dynamic parking, making tricky manoeuvres and heavy towing simpler and safer. ABS and EBD as well as multiple airbags, help protect occupants in the event of an impact.
