Festive is the best time to go for long drives and fun-filled road trips and this past festive I had one pleasure of driving the Hyundai Creta facelift. Now many ask themselves ‘what has changed from the one before?’ but if you pay attention to detail a whole lot has changed the game and i put the Hyundai Creta to the test.

If we have a look from the outside the fog lights have been cupped with led day time running lights and elegantly curved positioned headlamps with static bending lights, which increase visibility when turning. The Grille has been lowered and roof rails have been added to give It that sporty look with a spoiler which includes a high- mounted stop lamp improving visibility. The 16inch alloy wheels give it that style from the previous Creta giving it that real SUV feel. Not much was changed but the tweaks made a great difference. My family enjoyed being driven around in a comfortable, high riding car. They were excited that we could all fit for a long comfortable road trip, no one was left behind. I for one had a blast in that beast.

The Inside was my playground. The dashboard holds up an 8inch infotainment touchscreen allowing you to stream through your phone or radio via iPod, USB, Bluetooth connectivity and an awesome sound system creating lit vibes within the car. The built-in SatNav can be added as an option for (R2000). The redesigned leather seats with stitch finishes made the comfort of the seats not only feel comfortable but look the part too (which comes standard). The driver’s seat allowed for us to pile on the miles with the manually adjustable seat- manual height, recline and side adjustable. The Steering wheel continues the comfortable feel with a leather wheel that has the Bluetooth feature letting you enjoy the hand’s free operation off your phone, for safer and convenient driving.

I’ll give the Creta full credit for space. A full house in that car is never cramped, there is more than enough leg room ensuring a comfortable and safe long road trip with 6 airbags around the car. There are quite a few storage compartments. Two cup holders in the front, two in the adjustable middle seat at the back. What more can you ask for? this one accommodated everyone at the same time. The boot can store up to 1.369l with the rear seats folded, allowing more than enough storage space.

The High riding Hyundai Creta SUV ensures safety and tackles off roads like a beast.  Creta comes with a 1.6 Turbo diesel engine and powered by 115kw and 196Nm torque. Ever piled on the miles without worrying about fuel? Now that’s what I call fuel friendly.

The Hyundai Creta competes with the Nissan Duke 1.6T 4WD Tekna for R403 900 and it seems to be in big trouble.
