Hyundai South Africa called out the media for an important announcement that involved their ongoing commitment to the development of the local economy through the Rugby SA sponsorship they run, which helps various schools and teams with equipment, gear, and, most importantly, transport.

Hyundai has announced that they will be the official transportation sponsor for the South African national team, the Springboks. As a vehicle partner, SA Rugby gains access to a fleet of Hyundai’s award-winning, cutting-edge, and stylish vehicles that meet the organization’s transport requirements—whether transporting players, staff, or equipment—efficiently, comfortably, and safely.

The Springboks’ official vehicle sponsor was previously Jaguar Land Rover, before being replaced by Toyota in a three-year partnership. The changeover occurred after Jaguar Land Rover’s contract ended in January. Toyota’s sponsorship was announced in June 2022 and ended just last year to make way for the South Korean giant to take the wheel.

“We are delighted to confirm the expansion of the relationship with Hyundai Automotive South Africa to encompass the entire Springbok family and look forward to a mutually beneficial and long journey ahead—on and off the field,” said Rian Oberholzer, CEO of SA Rugby.

Oberholzer also went on to further applaud the brand for its global reputation for building reliable, durable, and top-quality vehicles. The collaboration kicks off with joint stadium activations during the Castle Lager Incoming Series and the Castle Lager Rugby Championship, where fans will experience the synergy between world-class rugby and automotive excellence.
