Hyundai Mzansi has updated its Grand i10 hatch and in the process added the sedan to give the budget buying family more choices. The Hatch and Sedan have model unique design accents to ensure differentiation on the road.
The front gets the same headlights as the previous model but with the lower grille is finished in polished black mesh. The LED daytime lights move from the grille into the lower faux air intakes with the fog lamps replaced by the LED daytime lights. The new LED Daytime lights are shaped in an arrow design for the hatch.
The sedan gets the same headlight design, lower mesh grille but it differs from the hatch by getting upside down L shaped Daytime running lights.
The side seas both top spec (Fluid) models get 15 inch alloy wheels with lower spec models (hatch only) getting 14 inch steel wheels with plastic wheel caps. The hatch also gets a two tone finish with the roof painted in black in contrast to the body colour. The sedan has a black cladding on the rear A pillar towards the rear window that is a nice design touch. The hatch gets black cladding as well in this area with Grand i10 embossed. Both top spec models get electrically folding side mirrors with indicator lights integrated into the side mirror. The Fluid models also get heated side mirrors.
The hatch gets a bee sting radio antenna with a roof mounted spoiler giving a sporty touch. The two rear lights are now connected by a light strip that gives the hatch a more Venue like design. The faux black diffuser also adds to the sporty touch. Reflector lights are placed on the outer edges of the bumper.
The sedan gets a shark fin antenna neatly placed on the rear part of the roof. The sedan gets a unique Z shaped tail light design with model and engine designation decals.
The interior retains the layout as seen on the previous model with the differentiation being the hatch gets black finish for the dash. The 8-inch infotainment touchscreen comes with wireless connection for the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The seats get black Cloth & vinyl with red stitching. The drivers seat is height adjustable with the rear seats foldable for added loading space.
The Sedan gets the same interior layout but with the light colour inserts on the dash. The seats are as per the hatch.
Interior features include rear air vents, C-Type USB for the front and rear, rear view parking camera, rear park assist, steering wheel satellite controls for the audio, cruise control and info screen on the cluster. Front driver and passenger airbags are complemented by ISOFIX anchors for the child seats.
There are 2 engine options for the hatch with 2 transmission options as well. The sedan gets one engine with two transmission options. The 49kW/94Nm 1.0 3-cylinder engine is the base engine. It is only linked to a 5 speed manual transmission. The 1.2 4-cylinder engine is credited with 61kW/114Nm and is either paired with a 4 speed auto or 5 speed manual. All engines and transmissions drive the front wheels.
