
Jetour, a Chery sub-brand, has confirmed its entry into the expansive SUV market in Mzansi, with aftermarket parts already en-route to the country ahead of the upcoming SUV line-up.
Mzansi has become home to yet another Chinese brand Jetour, a new brand winged by Chery Group, has confirmed its commitment to take on the broader SUV market with premium affordable offering.
Jetour South Africa has confirmed its Mzansi debut with a mid-sized SUV, initially available in 5-seater configuration and planning to introduce a 7-seater later on. Adding to the anticipation, Jetour South Africa has already secured a substantial storage facility in Midrand, Johannesburg, where parts worth around R100 Million are already housed, with a second shipment scheduled for September. This is to mitigate the current stigma against foreign brands with issues of timeous mechanical parts supply.
Jetour South Africa has also announced that its upcoming product will share key components, including engines chassis, with Chery, Omoda and Jaecoo models. The initial SUV model scheduled to be officially introduced in September 2024, promises a combination of mild off-roading prowess’s amongst other features. It will be available across 40 dealership networks across Mzansi. More details will be confirmed closer to launch. Stay tuned.
