Kia has suited up its latest iteration of the Optima for a grand reveal at the New York International Auto Show.

The fresher 2019 Kia Optima comes clothed with a number of redesigned interior and exterior elements that differ depending on trim level (LX, S, EX and SX). On the outside, onlookers are embezzled with new Stinger-inspired LED daytime running lights, matte gray-finish grill (glossy black on EX and SX trim), new projection beam fog lamps, LED taillights, dual exhaust, sport side sills with gloss black trim and a choice between 16 to 18-inch alloy wheels. Push-button start, smart key, smart trunk and power front windows with auto up/down functionality add standard convenience on certain grades.

Engine line-up has not been confirmed but expect the Optima to retain its current units. These include the 137kW 2.3litre 4-cylinder petrol unit, the 132kW 1.6litre 4-potter turbo unit and the range topping 182kW 2.0litre 4-cylinder turbo engine.
The new Kia Optima has been staged at the New York International Auto Show, with more details to follow soon. Stay tuned
