Korean auto manufacturer KIA has revealed its new Seltos compact SUV, and it’s headed to Mzansi soil.
Exterior styling comes in the form of a long bonnet, wide ‘tiger nose grille’, LED daytime running lights, LED headlights and a bold front bumper. Extending the sporty and compact look is a ‘glasshouse shaped’ shoulder line that tapers towards the rear where LED taillights and rear bumper with a metallic muffler summing up the compact SUV’s timeless look. More so, the Kia Seltos sits on a choice of 16”, 17” or 18inch premium crystal cut alloy wheels.

The spacious cabin comes in with a mixture of high quality and ‘futuristic’ materials, along with a range of technological features that include a 10,25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Sound Mood Lighting (in some models) and an 8,0-inch Head-Up Display system. Higher specification models are also available with a premium eight-speaker Bose audio system.

Powering the Seltos are a range of newly developed and unconfirmed powertrains that range from naturally aspirated as well as turbocharged petrol and diesel units. Depending on the market, the Seltos will be offered with up to 3 auto transmission options, including a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (7DCT), a 6-speed auto transmission (6AT) and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Also available is a Drive Select system (Normal, Eco and Sport mode) that allows for a more individualised driving experience.

Sales of the new and upcoming KIA Seltos have been confirmed to commence in select global markets in the second half of 2019, with Mzansi availability scheduled in early 2020. Stay tuned for more details.
