In keeping with a new design philosophy first shown to the world at the Japan Auto Show 2025, Lexus has pulled the wraps off their newest embodiment of "DISCOVER LIMITLESS" in the TZ. The brand's first-ever three-row all-electric offering aims to push the envelope of mobility as we know it.

The TZ is a new EV offering that sits upon a newly developed dedicated BEV platform, which has a key focus on a fantastic minimalist exterior design and spacious interior layouts built around Lexus's new "Driving Lounge" concept.

This theme ensures that the vehicle exudes high levels of premium cabin quality and comfort, all the while being eco- friendly, which can be seen from the interior features like the "Forged Bamboo" trim crafted from Shikoku bamboo, alongside recycled aluminum and other sustainable materials. Lexus has also incorporated lower-impact manufacturing processes as part of the TZ's circular vehicle development strategy.

The driver gains a newly designed steering wheel that consists of buttons, none of that haptic nonsense. However, all buttons are nowhere to be found in the minimalist cabin, which means they are embedded in the massive infotainment display that dominates the dashboard. In North American markets, the TZ comes equipped with a NACS charging port, allowing a 10-to-80-percent charge in about 35 minutes at up to 150 kW.

Some more interior features include one of the largest opening pano roofs ever, electrically folding and adjustable seats for the second and third rows in what the brand claims is a "Rear Comfort" mode, and then you have a 21-speaker sound system provided by Mark Levinson Audio for your music or a naturally aspirated V10 under the hood for those who want to experience the LFA in the TZ.

The TZ has a boxy exterior appearance that incorporates elements of the Lexus brand, like the signature L-shaped LED daytime running lights that flank a closed-off spindle-shaped grille fascia, all to tie together sleek geometric and aerodynamic detailing. The spacious SUV measures 5,100 mm in length with a 3,050 mm wheelbase, while cargo capacity ranges from 290 L to 2,017L. The TZ also offers a towing capacity of up to 1,500 kg (EU specification).

The big 7-seater is also quite smooth against drag, as Lexus claims that the car produces a drag coefficient number of 0.27, thanks to a combination of smart channels carved into the boxy body, redesigned mirrors, and flush door handles.

According to Lexus International Chief Engineer Takeshi Miyaura, the TZ was created to deliver more than just mobility. "The TZ was developed as a refined mobile space that brings smiles to drivers and families alike. Beyond driving, we wanted to create a vehicle where people genuinely enjoy spending time," he said.

Powered exclusively by a dual-motor AWD system producing 300 kW, the TZ accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. It also offers rapid DC charging, with a 10–80% charge achievable in approximately 35 minutes, as well as an estimated driving range of up to 640 km, depending on market specifications.
