Mercedes-Benz have given a special treatment to the AMG CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ with the "Final Edition" and there are only 15 units reserved for the South African market.
On the looks front the Final Edition gains features like the AMG specific radiator grilles with vertical struts, AMG crests on the bonnets and AMG front aprons, some F1 inspired black or yellow decals and the 15 “Final Edition” models available for South African customers are all finished in exclusive Night Black paint finish.
There are also sharply cut headlights, matte black 19-inch AMG forged wheels with the wheel hub covers finished in yellow, and rear lights with LED technology. The brake callipers of the AMG are also painted gloss black
The interior of the "Final Edition" also features ARTICO man-made leather and black MICROCUT microfibre, with yellow topstitching on the seats, door paneling, and instrument panel. There are embroidered emblems with the "45 S" label on the front headrests. A "45 S Final Edition" emblem on the center console indicates the edition.
The driver has a multifunctional steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather and MICROCUT microfibre, with yellow topstitching and aluminum trim elements, along with AMG floor mats that bear "45 S" lettering and decorative stitching in yellow to complete the interior upgrades.
There is also a Night Package to fit onto your Final Edition , which upgrades you to more blacked-out exterior elements , such as mirror housings and dark chrome tailpipe trims. The AMG Night Package II is also available, designed for individualists who appreciate "high-class design details."
The CLA 45 S accelerates from a claimed 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. Top speed is limited to 270 km/h. In addition to the pure performance figures, the heart of the vehicle is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that offers 310 kW and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. Shifting of gears is then handled by an eight-speed "AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT."
That power is distributed to all four wheels via the 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system, which sends power to the rear axle via a AMG TORQUE CONTROL on a wheel-by-wheel basis - for either more traction or a naughty time when switching to drift mode.
