Ford has confirmed that the updated Territory SUV, which sports a list of changes to the exterior and interior, is destined for Mzansi shores. Let's check out what these upgrades are as we wait for the first deliveries of the new Territory, which are expected in the coming weeks. Full specifications and pricing will be communicated in due course as well .

The face of the Territory experiences the most drastic change, as we can see a revised fascia that takes on a redesigned grille, flanked by new DRLs and headlights, along with some new alloy wheels. For the first time, Ford app connectivity will be available, allowing owners to remotely interact with their vehicle via their smartphones. Exclusive exterior paint options called Cactus Grey and Oasis Green, on all variants, further enhance its premium appeal.

“Territory has always been about empowering young, dynamic families to get the most out of every day,” says Sunil Sewmohan, Director of Product Marketing, Ford South Africa. “With the new Territory, comfort and smart technology come to the fore. It’s everything our customers have asked for, and more.”

Since this vehicle is a product of a agreement between the Blue Oval and Chinese manufacturer JMC, the engine that will powering the Territory is a proven 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 138 kW and 318 Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The vehicle is set to feature versatile driving modes to switch from, adaptive cruise control, and Start-Stop technology.

Amongst everything else, we are told that pricing for the Territory range will remain unchanged and will position as follows :

Ford Territory 1.8T Ambiente — R594 500

Ford Territory 1.8T Trend — R651 500

Ford Territory 1.8T Titanium — R726 500

Ford Territory 1.8T Dark Edition — R734 000

A purchase of the Territory vehicles all guarantees a six-year/90 000 km service plan and a four-year/120 000 km warranty.
