Toyota has released images of its new Yaris hatch, and its not coming to Mzansi… #Andizi!!
Without being discouraged by such news, the newcomer is underpinned by Toyota’s new GA-B platform which has allowed for a more urban, dynamic and youthful look. The front end benefits from a longer bonnet, new lights with LED daytime lights, a large front grille with a central Toyota emblem and a new front bumper that adds to the dynamic look. Sculpted door panels, sloping A-pillar, LED rear lights and new rear bumper completes the look.
Interior styling benefits from sporty seats sourced from the current Toyota RAV4, a smaller and sporty multi-function steering wheel, a TFT multi-information display in the instrument binnacle and a 10-inch colour head-up display – all of which are situated within the slimmer and lower dashboard. Convenience features come in the form of a wireless charger, heated steering wheel and special ambient cabin lighting around the driver’s cockpit.
Besides the main 1.5litre Hybrid model, the new Yaris will also be available with 1.5 and 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engines in selected markets. More details of these powertrains will be released at a later stage.
