"Elegantly sporty with intuitive controls and innovative technologies" this is how Opel Mzansi describes the revamped Grandland. It's not available in Mzansi in 3 specifications.

The design changes are noticeable and take cues from the Mokka with the Opel Vizor front treatment. This means a polished black grille with adaptive IntelliLux LED® Pixel Lights available on the GS and Ultimate models.

The 168 LED elements result in a seamless adaptation of the light beam according to the driving situation and surroundings, without glare for other traffic. The signature Opel crease accents on the bonnet form part of Opel’s new design language. The bumper has also received redesign with underbody skid-plates in high-gloss black and silver.

On to the side the black roof contrasts nicely with the metallic paint. Wheel size range from 17inch to 18inch in diameter. There are five colour options to choose from.

The Grandland rear gets LED lighting tech with the Grandland name and the Blitz brand logo stand proudly in the middle of the tailgate. The tailgate is electronically opened on the Ultimate spec with keyless activation for ease when one has their hands full. Chrome accents on the bottom part of the bumper create a classy look.

The inside also receives the much lauded Pure Panel layout as seen on the Mokka with a 12-inch Driver digital cluster and a 10-inch Intellilink colour touchscreen for operating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via the Multimedia infotainment system. There is a new dashboard design with the lower console also getting the electronic gear shifter.

Next to the gear lever is the Drive Mode switch (Eco, Normal and Sport). Wireless charging in the centre console provides neat and tidy “refuelling” for compatible smartphones.

The seats are trimmed in Cloth in Grandland, Grandland GS Line (trimmed in Alcantara), and the Grandland Ultimate (trimmed in leather). Further adjustments such as electric seat tilt to electro-pneumatic lumbar support. They offer heating and in the leather trim even ventilation. Rear passenger space has been prioritised for added comfort whilst the rear luggage compartment can grow up to 1652 litres with the rear seats folded. There is a Ski pass through which helps loading long items.

Powering all models is a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder Turbo engine credited with 121kW at 6,000 r/min and 240Nm at just 1,400 r/min. It is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission as standard to deliver effortless driving in every condition and drives the front wheels. Opel claims the Grandland’s sophisticated suspension design delivers an excellent combination of comfortable ride quality and safe handling. Efficiencies are sought everywhere to deliver low emissions and affordable fuel efficiency with a combined cycle consumption of 7 l/100km.

Opel’s compelling value proposition for the Grandland range is backed up by competitive pricing and the peace of mind of comprehensive back-up during ownership. The Opel Grandland comes with a five year/100,000km warranty with roadside assistance as standard. The matching service plan will ensure that there are no surprises during the first five years of ownership. Quality is assured by Opel’s 12-year anti-corrosion warranty and service intervals are annual or every 20,000km.
