Stylish BMW X2 now in Mzansi

Its the "Boujie" version of the X1 with added design flair to appeal to those seeking stand out looks and driving fun.

BNW Mzansi has launched the second generation X2 after the first generation garnered 390 000 sales.

The new model comes in two design spec, the M-Sport 18i and the M-Performance M35i. Starting with the 18i, this model comes standard with the M-Sport kit meaning the front has an aero design bumper with black mesh on the air intakes. The BMW kindney grilles now come in a Hexagonal shape and for added excitement, buyers can option the LED illumination for the grille. LED headlights come standard with the LED Daytime lights now having vertical lines.

The M35i comes with a similar design front with more aggression in terms of design curves around the bumper section. The illuminated grille comes standard on the M35i.

19 inch alloys come standard on the 18i with the option of 20 inch wheels. The slopping roof is a hallmark of the SUV Coupe design and it comes with an optional glass roof. At the rear there are LED lights in vertical design with faux diffuser in black on the lower part of the bumper. The fixed spoiler is placed on the lower part of the boot opening.

The M35i comes standard with 21inch wheels and also retains the slopping roof with a glass roof optional. The side mirrors adopt the M design aerodynamic layout. This model has a more pronounced spoiler and differentiates itself more from the 18i by having 4 tailpipes.

The high quality interior has BMW’s Curved Display as standard which comes with Operating System 9 paving the way for highly customisable selection of additional digital services. The optional BMW Digital Premium means customers can enjoy in-car use of all the apps available in their country, e.g. for music streaming, news or gaming, on a subscription basis, and the apps available from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, including music streaming. The Augmented View function is available as an optional add-on for the cloud-based BMW Maps navigation system. Controls for the multi zone climate control is placed on the infotainment screen but it has easy to access shortcuts on the Home Screen. LED Ambient lighting is used to create a dynamic experience especially when driving at night.

Sports seats come standard on the 18i whilst the M35i comes with M-Sport seats.

The rear seat accommodates 3 occupants and can fold down to allow more luggage space. The rear boot door is electrically operated.

All models come standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 18i is powered by a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder Turbo engine credited with 115kW/230Nm driving the front wheels. 0-100km/h is claimed at 8.4 seconds topping at 213km/h. This model is priced at R879 000.

The M23i gets a 233kW/400Nm 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Turbo engine powering all wheels via BMWs xDrive. This models sprints to 100km/h from standstill in 5.4 seconds topping at 250km/h. This model is priced at R1 223 935.70
