Audi is on a mission to get their whole swagger back after various changes and overcomplications to their entire model lineup, where nameplates were being revived, changed, or discontinued. It seems they've slowly pulled it back and found their mojo by bringing back things like buttons and making fun cars again. Audi SA has introduced the updated Audi S3 duo with increased performance, a torque splitter, advanced driving dynamics, and a sharpened design. That's what we like to hear!

The designs gains some updated elements such as standard with 19-inch wheels, the hexagonal Singleframe grille now features a flatter and wider structure, highlighted by L-shaped design elements that emphasise the bold proportions.

There are large angular side air intakes enhance the sense of width, while a striking front spoiler with two vertical struts, inspired by motorsport, visually lowers the stance of the car.

Some more standard equipment include, Matrix LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch wheels, S sport suspension, red brake calipers, Park Assist and Side Assist.

At the rear, there is a redesigned bumper, a glossy black rear apron positioned above the diffuser, those signature 4 pipes that are actually real, and can be chosen in a optional performance exhaust system with a titanium silencer for more noise.

The interior tweaks are minimal and these are new ambient lighting, a redesigned gear shifter, and precision details such as laser-cut illuminated fabric panels in the doors. A black headlining, stainless steel pedals, illuminated door sills, and contoured flat-bottomed leather steering wheel underline the sporty atmosphere. Sport seats with integrated headrests provide lateral support. New textured inlays in aluminium or carbon fibre offer further personalisation.

Optional features are MMI navigation plus for the 10.1-inch touch display, head-up display below the Audi virtual cockpit, and access to the in-car app store expand digital capability.

There are new expressive metallic paint finishes, including District Green, Ascari Blue, and Progressive Red. For those seeking greater individuality, Audi exclusive provides a curated selection of bespoke colours. For the first time, a polar matt Daytona Grey finish is available for the S3 range.

The engine receives some more power as the 2.0 TFSI engine now delivers 245 kW and 420 Nm of torque. This increase of 32 kW and 20 Nm results in stronger acceleration and assured pulling power. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 4.7 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 250 km/h. Maximum torque is available across a broad band between 2,100 and 5,500 rpm, ensuring effortless performance in every driving situation.

The Vorsprung durch Technik wizards have also tweaked the seven-speed S tronic transmission to be more refined so that it can provide sharper take-off and quicker gear shifts. Another addition is the enhanced turbocharger pre-loading and optimised throttle response which should make the car feel more immediate and engaging, whether in everyday traffic or under full acceleration.

Under the body, the S3 adopts the same torque splitter system found in the more powerful and rapid RS3. This technology enables fully variable torque distribution between the rear wheels. The torque splitter uses an electronically controlled multiple disk clutch on each drive shaft to optimally distribute the torque between the rear wheel on the inside and the outside of the curve – depending on the driving situation and the chosen Audi drive select mode.
