In line with Toyota's global vision of becoming a mobility solutions company, Toyota South Africa has announced the introduction of the Toyota Hiace PWD (Persons with Disabilities) model, which is set to ensure that all persons are afforded the ability to travel regardless of their disabilities.
This Hiace PWD comes fully equipped with an automated rear ramp that allows for wheelchair access to be simple and seamless. Toyota believe that mobility is about more than getting from one place to another and that with the Hiace PWD, barriers are removed to ensure that every passenger can travel with dignity and without being left behind.
Built from the trusted 16-seater Hiace, this PWD model features three rows of original Hiace seats, accommodating nine passengers, as well as the new spot that will allow for wheelchair accommodation in a secured positioned at the rear so that its occupant is comfortably seated as though in a fourth row.
The wheelchair bay is fitted with front and rear restraints for stability, safety and a sturdy ramp extension makes boarding and disembarking effortless. When not in use, the ramp can fold neatly away.
The Toyota Hiace PWD is available exclusively in Ivory White with a dark grey interior.

For power the Hiace will employ the trusted 2.7-litre naturally aspirated engine that delivers 111kw and 241nm paired to 5 speed manual gearbox.
