Carlex Design, a Polish design studio has unveiled the EXY Yatching kit for the Mercedes X Class for what is definitely the S Class of pick ups.

The EXY Yatching X Class looks as close as one will get to a Mercedes Maybach in design with all round design overhaul. The conversion features a sporty carbon fibre body kit comprising 15 parts, the Maybach S650 Coupé grille and rims, teak tonneau, and body styling stickers. The front bumper features a new bumper with a design not too far off the recent AMG design with large side air intakes and an AMG blade connecting the two. Yatching decals ensure no one mistakes this for any X Class. Flared wheel arches house massive Maybach-like design wheels. Mirror housing feature carbon fibre finish whilst the side steps are finished in chrome.

The rear roll-over bar is custom made and looks exquisite whilst the load bay is finished in wood. The rear bumper features exhaust outlets finished in carbon fibre. The whole execution is finished off in a lovely two tone paint finish.

The luxury interior of the vehicle has been made of original Nappa Porzellan Full Grain leather – a highly desired automotive material – as well as of Alcantara or exotic wood and decorated with embroidered and embossed motifs. The layout is similar to the production X Class with high grade fit and finish. The large infotainment screen from the X Class is retained whilst the steering wheel has been reshaped, and its upper and lower parts have been made of exotic wood. It has also been trimmed with exclusive Nappa Porzellan leather. The front seats feature an AMG Racing seat design finished off in the finest Nappa leather available a similar finish to the rear seats. The door panels are finished in a classy suede-leather combination.

No technical information is given on the EXY Yatching but it should mirror those offered by Mercedes meaning a 2.3-litre Bi-Turbo diesel 4 cylinder motor that pushes 140kW/ 450Nm with the 3.0-litre V6 Turbo diesel motor pushing 190kW/550Nm. There are 4×2 and 4×4 models with either a 7 speed auto or 6 speed manual depending on spec.
