The recently revealed Lexus RC 350 F Sport coupe has finally hit Mzansi shores, boasting a refined exterior and interior design cues.
the facelift Lexus RC F Coupe was recently revealed at the Detroit Motor Show alongside its highly potent sibling – the RC F Track Edition which was confirmed for a Mzansi introduction in limited numbers (Click here for full story) during the second quarter of 2019.
The RC 350 F Sport has been said to benefit from a ‘sharper’ exterior design, which gains a new grille, ‘micro’ triple LED headlamps with new L-shaped LED Daytime Lights. The rear adds new air ducts on the rear bumper, with the new L-shaped signature rear taillights complimenting the updated look. Amongst the ten different colors available in the RC F, customers can also choose from a list of custom exterior and interior items exclusive to the RC 350 F Sport, including new 10-spoke 19inch alloy wheels finished in dark metallic hue.
The cabin benefits from brushed aluminium detailing on the heater control and audio panels, larger and raised cushioned knee pads on either side of the centre console, reshaped driver palm rest. A new analogue clock on the instrument panel and newly designed cup holders sum up the list of updates granted to the RC 350 F Sport. Interior trim colours include Black, Flare Red, White and Mustard – the latter features subtle yellow accents on a black background.
Powering the facelift Coupe is a 232kW/280Nm 3.6litre V6 engine that allows for a 0-100km/h sprint time of 6.3sec before reaching a top speed of 230km/h. shove is channelled to the rear wheels via an 8-speed transmission with M-Mode, allowing full torque-converter lock-up from second to eighth gears. In addition, the RC F Sport transmission is linked to the Lexus Drive Mode Select function, with its ECO, NORMAL, SPORT and SPORT S+ settings. Fuel consumption is rated at 9.4l/100km whilst Co2 sits comfortably at 217g/km.
